The design of the bobbin lace alternates between three-dimensional openwork rosettes flanked by vertical zigzag motifs, double overlapping crowns and acorn motifs. The bobbin lace tips are composed of a series of three rosettes, each edged with a scalloped strip with very thin bars connecting the pendants of the rosettes to each other. A small bobbin lace falsatura connects the lace to the embroidery above. The acorn motif is an allusion to the male sex, indicating that the lace was intended for a gentleman.
