History of the collection

The substantial collection created by the Luxoros is presented in the rooms of the villa whilst still respecting the nature of the building as a private dwelling which is the typical characteristic of this museum, in which the various rooms have maintained their original function. The preference of these passionate collectors was primarily directed towards the field of the decorative arts and, in particular, to Ligurian production of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, though within the museum there are objects of various kinds and origin, as well as an interesting picture gallery and an important nucleus of graphic works.
