Armor decorated with dragons and cuirass decorated by a dragon within a circle

The helmet is of the hoshi kabuto type (star-set helmet) with a crescent moon maedate (front decoration). A war mask covering the whole face, somen, is present.
The shoulder and arm guards are decorated with golden flying dragons. The cuirass is of the modern okegawa-dō type (tub-sided cuirass) with hinged vertical plates, featuring a gilded applique depicting a dragon within a circle.
The tassets of the skirt follow the style of the shoulder guards, with a lacquered iron pseudo-plate construction, connected by interlaced cords.
The greaves bear the same decoration with dragons as in the shoulders and arms guards. There is also a leather panel decorated with gold leaf covering the ankle.
The repetition of the decorative elements suggests that all components of the armor were crafted by the same workshop and that the armor was purchased as a complete set by Edoardo Chiossone.
