Japan XVI -XIX century
AA9
polymateric
The helmet is of the suji-bachi kabuto type (spherical bowl with raised ridges), riveted. The maedate (front decoration) consists of a central circular element, which represents the sun or the moon, mounted over “u shaped horns”.
The mask is of the me-no-shita-men type with a removable nose.
The modern shoulder guards are of a modern design with long, smooth plates, two in this model. The top plate is decorated with repoussé studs.
The cuirass is made of fully laced plates, inspired by the older models used during XI century and named dō-maru (cuirass wrapped around the torso).
The tassets of the skirt follow the fully laced style of the cuirass, while the greaves are composed of large, hinged metal plates.
